Guests must arrive in Fort Frances the day prior to our charter flight departures. Delta partner, Skywest Aviation offers two daily flights between Minneapolis and International Falls, MN – one morning flight and one mid-afternoon flight. Kennedy’s City Cab & Van Service (Phone: 218-283-8635) provides cross border transportation between the International Falls airport and Fort Frances hotels. They are located in the Falls International airport and are open Monday through Sunday, 24 hours a day. North Air Taxi (Phone: 807-274-5301), located in Fort Frances, provides shuttle service between Fort Frances hotels and Rusty Myers Flying Service and also from Rusty Myers to the International Falls airport.

Slippery Winds Wilderness Lodge’s float plane charters are scheduled to depart from Rusty Myers Flying Service’s dock at 7:30 AM. Guests should arrive at Rusty Myers just after 7:00 AM so the luggage can be weighed and loaded onto the float plane(s) for a 7:30 AM departure.

The Bayview Motel (807-274-5347) – located next door to Rainy Lake Sports, with a view of Rainy Lake. Newly renovated in 2019. Rooms are small. Best rates of our recommended hotels.
Quality Inn by Choice Hotels (807) 788-2279 – The former Copper River Inn. Located just off Highway 11, to the east of the Super 8 Hotel. Complimentary hot breakfast buffet.
Studio 6 Motel – (807) 208-9320 – A new Motel 6 built in 2024 / 2025, located on Highway 11, adjacent to the Canadian Tire store

Baggage Limits: Due to stringent Transport Canada regulations regarding aircraft capacities and weight allowances, our air charter company has set a baggage allowance (including carry-on, rod tubes, and tackle boxes) of 50 lbs per person for guests travelling to our lodge.
