Your dining experience at Slippery Winds Wilderness Lodge is a relaxed affair. The lodge dining room, overlooking Yoke Lake, exudes a friendly and warm ambience where guests relax and enjoy their meals in casual comfort.

Our Red Seal Chef treats Slippery Winds’ guests to hearty, home-cooked entrees and delicious, mouth-watering desserts.

We’re up early at Slippery Winds, so feel free to drop by the lodge first thing in the morning to enjoy a cup of fresh-brewed coffee, tea or hot chocolate and relax in the lounge while catching up on the latest news, weather and sports via satellite television.

Start your day off on the right foot with a hot breakfast served in the lodge dining room. A selection of fruit juices, cold cereal – and a tradition of the north – Red River cereal are available in addition to a traditional full, hot breakfast featuring breakfast meats, eggs, potatoes and toast.

There’s nothing tastier than a shore lunch of fresh-caught walleye, pike or lake trout cooked over an open fire in a pristine wilderness setting among the pines. Slippery Winds has several shore lunch spots with tables and fire pits strategically located on Yoke Lake. If you have opted for a guided trip, you are in for a taste treat as our guides are proud of their culinary skills, offering their guests a varied repertoire of fish dishes ranging from traditional fried fillets to stir-fried fish with fresh vegetables.

Dinners at Slippery Winds are a casual affair. Guests can enjoy a pre-dinner drink and swap the day’s fish stories with their buddies in our lounge while catching up on the latest news or sports scores.

A delicious three course dinner, prepared by our Red Seal chef and served in the lodge dining room by Slippery Winds’ friendly staff is served at 6:00 PM, so our guests have time to get in some evening fishing after dinner.

If you would rather take it easy after dinner, guests can relax in the lounge or on the lodge’s screened front porch, before heading back to their cabins for a good night’s sleep to prepare for their next day’s fishing adventure.
