Slippery Winds main lodge is located in a sheltered bay at the east end of Yoke Lake. The lodge faces west, which allows guests to relax on either of the lodge’s two decks to relax and watch Northwestern Ontario’s spectacular sunsets.
From the lodge you can access either the main dock on Yoke Lake or the back dock on Straw Lake. This provides guests the option of exploring the deep, cold waters of Yoke for giant muskies, feisty smallmouth and largemouth bass, trophy walleye, northern pike and lake trout; or the shallow, tannic stained Straw lake for impressive numbers of eating size walleyes, big smallmouth and largemouth bass and loads of aggressive northern pike.
Slippery Winds’ main lodge houses the guest dining room and lounge. Breakfast and dinner are served in the dining room. For lunch guests have the option of taking out a bag lunch of sandwiches, home-baked cookies and fruit or we will provide all the shore lunch fixings. All you need to do is catch the main course of fresh fish!
The guest lounge features a wood-burning field-stone fireplace and relaxing on a couch in front of the fire is a great way to end a great day of fishing. If you just can’t bear to miss your favorite ball team in action or the latest market news, the lounge has a flat screen television with satellite service. The lodge also offers satellite WiFi internet. WiFi is also available in the cabins located close to the lodge.
The large deck off the guest lounge is the perfect place to relax and watch the sun set over the west end of Yoke Lake after enjoying a hearty, home-cooked meal prepared by our professional chef. Take some time to savour an after-dinner drink and Cuban cigar while swapping fishing stories with your fishing buddies.
